Wayne and Denise Shaw
Hi there well this is us, soul mates and a couple of down to earth Aussies.
We have a passion for wildlife and preservation of native species of fauna and their food sources.
Our home is an 80 acre property on the outskirts of the beautiful country township of Wondai, Queensland, Australia, surrounded by multiple species of birds and animals. We have recorded greater than 105 identified species at this stage.
With the decline in natural habitat areas numbers of birds and animals have dropped significantly with some species now gone forever and others like the Glossy black cockatoo are now endangered, these birds lay 1 egg every 2 years and when they need a hollow to nest in it is difficult for them to find one.
It is our great desire to provide safe and lasting quality homes for wildlife that will replace the loss of hollowed out trees. Some trees take up to 100 years to produce hollows and many of these trees have been cleared for housing and agricultural use.
Thank you for visiting our web site, we will continue to grow this site to include educational information on the wildlife including food sources, photos of projects we have been involved with and links to some interesting sites, when my website building skills develop further!
